Cookie notice
Last updated 23 August 2026.
The short version
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no session tracking and no third-party embed watching you read this. The only thing that ever leaves the page is the enquiry form, and only when you press send. That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner — there is nothing to ask your permission for.
Why there is no banner
UK law requires consent before storing anything on your device that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for. Since nothing is stored at all, there is nothing to consent to. Sites that show you a banner do so because they are doing something that needs permission.
What does happen when you visit
The pages, fonts and images are served from Cloudflare, which hosts this site. Like any web server, Cloudflare sees the technical details of the request — your IP address, your browser type, which page you asked for — and uses them to deliver the page and to block attacks. That is server-side logging, not a cookie, and it happens on every website you visit whether or not it has a banner.
The typefaces on this site are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page here does not tell Google that you visited.
The enquiry form
The form is the one place where this site sends anything to a third party. When you press send, what you typed is posted to Web3Forms, a form-delivery service that passes the message on to my inbox. That request happens only when you submit the form — nothing is sent while you are reading or typing.
Web3Forms receives your name, your email address, your phone number if you gave one, the answers you chose, and your notes. It does not set a cookie in your browser and it is not used to profile you. The retention and rights that apply to that message are set out in the privacy policy.
The form also records how long the page was open before you submitted, purely to reject automated submissions, and that measurement is thrown away with the page.
If that changes
If I ever add analytics, I will add a proper consent banner at the same time and update this page. I am not going to add tracking quietly and leave this page saying otherwise.
